On Friday morning, folks walking past the upcoming Apple Store in Hamburg, Germany were greeted with some Banksy inspired nerd vandalism on the side of one of the building’s construction barricades. You see, plastered on the side of the Apple Store to-be was a bright and colorful Windows logo.

Quick to respond, here are workers cleaning up the “graffiti” early on Friday morning. The Apple Store in question is scheduled to open for business this Summer, and much like its Munich counterpart, will be a two-story structure with large glass panels (or dare we say, windows) on the exterior.

hough this was clearly the work of some enterprising pranksters, it’s not all that uncommon to see official Windows branding so close to Apple retail stores. Not only have the folks in Redmond made a habit of placing new Microsoft stores in the vicinity of existing Apple retail stores, but they even went so far as to construct Microsoft-branded “I’m a PC” kiosks outside of a few US and UK-based Apple Stores where folks could create their own “I’m a PC” video.

Update: Here’s video of how the Windows emblem was put up. I tell ya, the things you can accomplish while wearing construction gear. Michael Westin would be proud!
